Industrial Emergency Response
TGH Safety Consulting offers a number of Industrial Emergency Response/Rescue programmes that will assure the client meets minimum government requirements.
Confined Space Rescue
Confined Spaces by their very nature are often dangerous, difficult areas in which to perform work. It is important that organizations working in these spaces have trained, available means of rescue should an emergency situation arise.
TGH Safety Consulting & Training Center offers three levels of training for your on-site responders:
- Awareness Level
This 8 hour programme provides a basic understanding of the role of a stand-by rescuer. The course covers hazard awareness, scene size-up and responsibilities of individuals trained to this level of response. The Awareness Level responder will possess minimal capabilities to be used in certain NON Entry rescue operations and some entry rescue based on job plans.
- Operations Level
This 16 hour program is designed for organizations which have a designated rescue team capable of responding to entry-type emergencies. Topics covered include scene assessment, hazard mitigation, equipment, SCBA’s, patient packaging and the Incident Command System.
- Technician Level
This 40-hour course covers aspects of both Confined Space Rescue and rescues from heights. Technician level responders will be proficient with ropes and knots, hauling and lowering systems, patient packaging and transporting as well as rescues from fall protection.
Rope Rescue
Due to the number of workers required to perform tasks in elevated areas, and the fact that falls from these elevated areas are the leading cause of injury among these workers, TGH Safety Consulting & Training Center has created a comprehensive, rope-based, training program to provide prompt rescue in the event of an emergency at elevation.
- Rope Rescue I
This 8-hour program provides an introduction to standards, terminology and equipment associated with rope-based rescues. The student will become proficient with ropes and knots, harnesses and unassisted rescue techniques.
- Rope Rescue II
This 16-hour program continues from Rope I with the introduction of patient packaging, assisted rescues and advanced hauling and lowering system configurations.
- Technician Level
This 40-hour course covers aspects of both Confined Space Rescue and rescues from heights. Technician level responders will be proficient with ropes and knots, hauling and lowering systems, patient packaging and transporting as well as rescues from fall protection.
Emergency Preparedness
TGH Safety Consulting Inc leads the way in Emergency Preparedness Plans and has now has added two more programs essential to maintaining the highest levels of readiness.
- SCBA Awareness
This program, which can run 4 or 8 hours, depending on our client’s needs, is designed to introduce and familiarize organization members with the donning, doffing and use of a Self Contained Breathing Apparatus. Students will perform a series of tasks and exercises while wearing the unit to ensure a maximum comfort level.
- Incident Command Management System
“Who is in charge here?”
