Mike Marsh

Safety Specialist

I am a certified Occupational Health and Safety Advisor and a certified Construction Health and Safety Officer.  I possess the knowledge and skills required to monitor the safety of people at work, assess workplace hazards and support and lead workplace safety programs.

Over the past year, I have significantly upgraded my education within the field of occupational health and safety to become skilled in the interpretation, promotion and implementation of HSE programs within the workplace.

I also possess over 7 years experience in industry which includes over 5 years in supervisory roles.  My past work history within the industrial environment has provided me with a strong technical background, including mechanical experience, developing work schedules and meeting production deadlines.  Through my supervisory experience I have developed strong leadership ability in both union and non-unionized work forces and understand that effective supervisors give people the encouragement and space to develop that is balanced with delivering clear expectations and communicating goals.

My work ethics include a demonstrated ability to develop tangible objectives and focus on key priorities.  I am able to address multiple demands and collaborate well on teams, including joint health and safety committees.  I have established credibility with a wide range of stakeholders and own the confidence, energy and personal involvement to succeed in the pursuit of championing health and safety initiatives in the workplace.
